I was born in Massachusetts but raised in the state of Texas. I am the youngest of 4 children. My older siblings really influenced my early taste in music. I grew up listening to bands such as Genesis, The Police, The Cars, Bob Segar and CCR. However, it was the powerful voices Juice Newton and Pat Benetar that inspired me to sing. I loved trying to belt out those notes just like they did.
Now, music is my escape! When I’m singing, all my stress melts away and its all I can think about. I love the energy I get from the crowd and the interactions with all our fans. I am so grateful that I have the opportunity to be part of the 90 Proof family! Cheers!

My musical journey started when I was in my early teens listening to bands like Van Halen, Ozzy Osborne and Tesla…. a lot of 80’s metal! I would sit in my room for hours and just practice and practice. I’m sure I annoyed my parents to death! LOL!
I created my first band when I was 18 and created the love of playing live. I have been in many local bands such as Shovelhead, Relic, Barbie N Bones, and Supernatural.
I’m looking forward to what this band will accomplish. We have many talented musicians and the sky is the limit! See you out there!

Vermont native, Shannon Bushey was born in Burlington, VT. At an early age after hearing Elvis and then seeing Peter Criss perform is when he knew exactly what he wanted to do. And that was to entertain! In his teens years he couldn’t get enough of the eighties hair bands and wanted to rock even more! Growing his hair long, wearing spandex and putting eyeliner on became a regular thing for him as a teen lol. With most of this long in his past there are still a few things that haven’t changed today. That’s his love for his family, music, anything drums and to entertain.

This self-taught drummer is influenced by Peter Criss, Rikki Rocket, Tommy Lee and Steven Adler

He has drummed for Razors Edge, Iron Core, T-Zer, Zoo on the Waterfront, Prism, Shovelhead and since 2021 to the present he drums for and tours with the band 90 Proof.

Shannon Plays and uses DW Drums, Gibraltar Stealth Racks, Sabian Cymbals, Evans HD Dry heads and his very own Signature Scorpion Sticks. Also has a very nice collection of Snare Drums!

He resides in Essex Junction, with his Amazing Wife Michele, two Beautiful Daughters Natasha and Mercedes. He also has a dog named Peanut and three cats- Nala, Daisy and Buddy.

So…. I guess you can say my musical ambitions started back in 1983 when I saw and heard Motley Crue’s Shout At The Devil! I was blown away! Soon after begging my parents I got my first bass guitar and amp. I would play that thing every day.
My influences were the 80’s hair bands out of L.A. and the metal scene consisting of bands like Megadeath and Metallica. Then I was blown away again by the mighty Led Zepplin!!! I’ve played in numerous local VT bands such as…. The Cellar Boyz, Stark Raven Madd, Eclipse, Zoo On The Waterfront, Sandblizzard, and Indecent Exposure.
Currently playing with 90 Proof who has a great cast of musicians and friends I have known since my teens and high school. It’s all about keeping the crowd on the dance floor and having fun doing it.

My guitar journey began at 19 years old and driven by George Lynch of Dokken, and of course Randy Rhoads, Jake E Lee, Zakk Wilde, all from Ozzy. I have been powerfully influenced by Disturbed, Five Finger Death Punch, Dream Theater, Skid Row, Pantera and many similar bands.
Previous bands I’ve been associated with include: Warning, Madam Medusa, Uncle Fister, and One Minute Remaining, all stemming from Long Island, NC, and Vermont, and now I’ve landed in 90 Proof out of Vermont, which is an amazing pleasure to jam with.
